REQUEST:
The action requested of Council is to approve the attached proposal from WW Grainger Inc., in the amount not to exceed $45,298.00 for the purchase of one (1) Tennant Mini Sweeper. WW Grainer Inc., is the authorized dealer for Tennant products. Pricing, terms, and conditions are included in the National IPA Contract #141003-MRO-Maintenance, Repair, and Operational Supplies. This contract was competitively bid out and publicly awarded by the City of Tucson, Arizona. The contact term is from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2019.
DISCUSSION:
This equipment will mainly be utilized by the Stormwater Utility to perform several different types of maintenance tasks where conditions do not allow the existing street sweeper to be operated. This includes the sidewalks around and in Sims Park, sidewalks around Orange Lake, multi-use paths, City owned parking lots, and during special events where road closures conditions are not conducive for the operation of the City’s street sweeper.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the purchase is recommended.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds for this purchase are available in the 2019/2020 Stormwater Utility Capital Equipment Outlay budget account 002103.46431 Special Purpose Equipment in the amount of $48,000. | | | |
