REQUEST:
The request of staff for Council is to review and consider for approval the attached do not exceed proposal in the amount of $340,900 from Air Mechanical and Service Corporation for the removal and replacement of the Library’s HVAC system. Pricing, terms, and conditions are in accordance with ITB #17-012.
DISCUSSION:
As City Council may recall, the August 16, 2019 New Port Richey Public Library Renovation Project schematic design submittal included mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection recommendations in addition to the proposed building renovations. The recommendation for the HVAC system includes the removal and replacement of the existing 1990 air handler, the removal of the existing 2006 55-ton chiller and two (2) pumps, and the installation of a 70 ton chiller and new pumps with variable speed drives. Redundancy for the chiller is accomplished by the incorporating two (2) compressor units and the redundancy for the air handling unit is accomplished by incorporating a two (2) fan system. Finally, the existing control system will be removed and replaced with a KMC system capable of remote operational adjustments, inter-net alarm setting features, and self-diagnostic capabilities.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the proposal is recommended.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for the project is identified in the City’s current Capital Improvement Program as Penny for Pasco Tax dollars. | | | |
