RE:Board Re-Appointment: Glenwood Pratt, Police Pension Board

REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to approve the re-appointment of Glenwood Pratt as the board-elected trustee to the Police Pension Board.

DISCUSSION:

On November 26, 2019, the trustees of the Police Pension Board voted to re-appoint Glenwood Pratt as the board-elected trustee. Pursuant to Section 17-53 of the City's Code:

 

"The fifth trustee shall be chosen by a majority of the previous four (4) trustees as provided for herein, and such person's name shall be submitted to the city council. The trustees are encouraged, but not required, to select a city resident as its fifth trustee. Upon receipt of the fifth person's name, the city council shall, as a ministerial duty, appoint such person to the board of trustees as its fifth trustee."

 

Mr. Pratt's term as board-elected trustee is for four years and will be up for renewal on December 31, 2023.



RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the re-appointment of Glenwood Pratt as the board-elected trustee to the Police Pension Board and accept the attached updated membership roster.

BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
No funding is required for this item.
