REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to approve the appointment of Linda Blake as member to the City's Environmental Committee.
DISCUSSION:
On October 18, 2019, Linda Blake submitted her application seeking appointment to the Committee for Council's consideration. The item was brought before City Council at their regular meeting on November 19, 2019. At that time, it was determined to defer the appointment as both Mrs. and Mr. Blake had submitted applications to be members of the Committee which the City Attorney advised against for several reasons. Since that time, Mrs. Blake has been an active participant on the Committee. Should Council approve Mrs. Blake's appointment, her term will be for two years and will be up for renewal on January 21, 2022. Staff has verified that Mrs. Blake meet the requirements set forth in the City's Code to serve on this committee. With Mrs. Blake's appointment, that leaves two alternate member positions open on the Committee.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the appointment of Linda Blake as member to the City's Environmental Committee as submitted and accept the attached updated roster.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
