| TO: | City of New Port Richey City Council | | FROM: | Robert M. Rivera, Public Works Director | | DATE: | 1/21/2020 | | RE: | Recommendation of Firms for Continuing Services Agreements RE: General Utility Engineering, Water-Resources, and Environmental |
REQUEST:
Attached for City Council’s review and consideration for approval are the RFQ 20-005 staff evaluation for General Utility Engineering, Water-Resource, and Environmental short list and continuing services agreement (CSA) recommendation process.
DISCUSSION:
As Council is aware, the City’s Public Works Department oversees the design and construction of all capital improvement utility projects, as well as smaller utility maintenance projects. As City Council is aware, utility projects are very complicated and can require engineering firms that specialize in certain fields; by creating this type of RFQ process and entering into continuing services agreements with these types of engineering firms, the City adds another tool available in its “tool box” in which it can address and streamline items that come up during the design, permitting, and construction phases of projects. In addition to utility projects, these firms can be utilized by the City for other projects included in the City’s current Capital Improvement Program.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the evaluation short list and allow staff to enter into CSA’s is recommended.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no impact on the budget. | | | |
