REQUEST:
The request before City Council is to approve the recommendation from the Cultural Affairs Committee to fund the Loquat Festival that will be held in Frances Avenue Park on March 21, 2020.
DISCUSSION:
A representative from Ecology Florida, a non-profit 501, C-3 organization, attended the Cultural Affairs Committee Meeting on January 15, 2020 and requested funding to support the Loquat Festival in the amount of $2,000 for marketing, prizes for the Art Show and prizes for the Literary Event. The Loquat Festival is an annual event held in Frances Avenue Park.
The Cultural Affairs Committee voted to recommend to City Council for support of the Loquat Festival in the amount of $1,500 instead of the requested $2,000.
RECOMMENDATION:
The recommendation before City Council is for approval of the recommendation from the Cultural Affairs Committee in the amount of $1,500 for the Loquat Festival to be held in Frances Avenue Park on March 21, 2020.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding is available in the Cultural Affairs Committee Budget for this cultural activity. | | | |
