TO: | City of New Port Richey City Council | FROM: | Robert M Rivera, Public Works Director | DATE: | 2/4/2020 | RE: | 2017 Seawall Repair Project Close Out |
REQUEST:
The request of staff for the City Council is to review and approve the attached deductive change order in the amount of ($37,424.49) and final pay request in the amount of $94,375.30 submitted by Cal-Tech Testing, Inc. d/b/a Foundation Professionals of Florida for the completion of the 2017 Seawall Repair Project. Total cost of the project is $261,505.51.
DISCUSSION:
As City Council may recall, staff presented a Seawall Condition Assessment to City Council in June of 2016. The Assessment reviewed the existing conditions of all seawalls owned and maintained by the City. Included in the assessment were project rankings, cost repairs, current conditions, and seawall remediation. Sims Park and Cotee River Park seawalls were ranked number one and two in need of repair. Sims Park boat ramp and Grand Blvd. Park were ranked three and four. All of which, were included in the 2017 Seawall Repair Project. The repairs included wall joint separation, wall cracking horizontal and vertical, wall cap damage, sidewalk settlement, drainage pipe deterioration, soil voids, wall leaning, and damaged or no tie-back systems.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the deductive change order and final pay request is recommended.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
This project was included in the City’s 2018/2019 Capital Improvement Program. Funding is identified as Penny for Pasco Dollars.
