REQUEST: The request is for the City Council to conduct a first reading of an Ordinance amending the Land Development Code and allowing a university or college in the Downtown and Highway Commercial zoning districts.
DISCUSSION: This is a companion agenda request to the Ordinance amending the 2030 Comprehensive Plan's Future Land Use Element. The Ordinance is needed in order to allow Kaiser University to located at the southeast corner of US Highway 19 and Main Street. The property is zoned Downtown and Highway Commercial zoning district and the amendment would allow as a permitted use a university or college in those two zoning districts,
RECOMMENDATION: The recommendation is to approve the Ordinance as submitted.
