REQUEST: The request is for City Council to approve on second reading a rezoning of parcel no. 08-26-16-0010-04500-0020 from Office (O) to Public/Semi-Public (P/SP) for a 1.18+ acre property.
DISCUSSION:
As you are aware, the City is planning to construct a replacement Fire Station No. 2 on property situated at the northeast intersection of Marine Parkway and Grand Boulevard however the property is currently zoned Office (O) district. After some consideration, it was determined that a more fitting designation for the intended purpose is a Public/Semi-Public (P/SP) zoning district which specifically provides for a fire service facility. The Land Development Review Board considered this matter at their meeting on May 21, 2020 and voted unanimously in favor of the proposed rezoning.
RECOMMENDATION: The recommendation is to approve the rezoning of the property from the Office (O) zoning district to Public/Semi-Public (P/SP) zoning district.
