REQUEST:
Attached for your review and consideration is a proposal for the Recreation & Aquatic Center Pool Deck Lighting Improvement Project.
DISCUSSION:
The Recreation and Aquatic Center’s current pool deck lighting system is thirteen years old and the components involved with this system are an older, less efficient technology. This proposal with Himes Electric Company, Inc. is in the amount, not to exceed, $67,620 and includes the same conditions and unit pricing as the current Hillsborough County ITB #6228. The use of this proposal and pricing is in accordance with the City’s purchasing procedures and guidelines.
This project was identified in the City’s Fiscal Year 19/20 Capital Improvement Program and would upgrade our current lighting system with new, more efficient LED lights which would improve the safety and energy efficiency of our Aquatic Facility. This proposal also includes a one year warranty which includes all labor and materials.
RECOMMENDATION:
The recommendation before City Council is to approve the proposal from Himes Electric Company, Inc. in the amount, not to exceed, $67,620 for the Pool Deck Lighting Improvement Project at the Recreation and Aquatic Center.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
This purchase is identified in the City’s Fiscal Year 19/20 Capital Improvement Program. Funding is available in the Parks and Recreation 5-Year Capital Equipment/Improvement Program Fund Account No. 001-094-4-6399.
