RE:	Request for Approval of Altered Minds $268 Donation

REQUEST:

I respectfully request City Council’s authorization to accept a $268 donation from the Altered Minds Art Group, to be used in support of the New Port Richey Public Library's resources related to the fine arts.

DISCUSSION:

The Altered Minds Art Group is composed of local artists who reside in New Port Richey. The group held monthly workshops and classes in the library’s meeting room prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although not currently meeting, the members of the Altered Minds Art Group presented a check for $268 to show their appreciation for the use of the meeting room. The group requests the New Port Richey Public Library use these funds for programs and resources that encourage others to expand their appreciation and knowledge of the Fine Arts.

RECOMMENDATION:

I respectfully request Council to approve a $268 donation from the Altered Minds Group in support of library resources and programs related to the Fine Arts.

BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:

This is a positive impact of $268 to the library department’s budget.
