REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to approve the purchase of 40 body cameras and 13 in-car cameras from WatchGuard Inc. in an amount not to exceed $264,554.34. This amount will be financed over the next five years with an annual payment of $52,910.87.
DISCUSSION:
Over the past few months the Technology Solutions Department has been working closely with the Police Department to research vendors to provide body cameras. The list was narrowed to three vendors and based on the features offered and officer feedback ,staff has selected WatchGuard as the vendor that best fit the needs of the department.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the purchase of 40 body cameras and 13 in-car cameras from WatchGuard for our Police Department as requested.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds for this project in the amount of $52,910.87 is allocated from Equitable Sharing and identified in the Police Department Capital Purchases account number 001-06-06-064-521-0000-0000-46431. Future payment will be made out of Penny for Pasco.
