REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to approve the purchase 45 in-car printers, 5 office computers, 2 APC power supplies, a video redaction software solution, and the replacement of a CCTV camera system in an amount not to exceed $43,030.56.
DISCUSSION:
The items in this request were originally to be part of the 20/21 budget. However, in August the Police Department received $150,000 in Equitable sharing which has allowed for this purchase to be completed in the current fiscal year instead. As a result, this provides for a reduction of $43,030.56 in the 20/21 budget. These upgrades will be used to improve performance in our Police Department vehicles and station.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the purchase of these hardware and software upgrades for our Police Department as requested.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds for this project in the amount of $43,030.56 is allocated from Equitable Sharing and identified in the Police Department Capital Purchases account numbers 001-06-06-062-521-0000-0000-46431, 001-06-06-064-521-0000-0000-46431, 001-06-06-064-521-0000-0000-45243
