RE:	Second Reading, Ordinance No. 2020-2212: Amendments to Golf Cart Ordinance

REQUEST:

This request is for City Council to conduct a second and final reading of an amendment to to expand the use of golf carts on Main Street.

DISCUSSION:

Due to the construction of Keiser University at Main Street and U.S. 19 and the extensive development taking place in that area, it is anticipated there is a need to lift the restriction preventing golf cart use on Main Street from River Road and Main Street to U.S. 19.

The attached amendment to our existing golf cart ordinance removes all restrictions on golf cart use on Main Street from the East city limit to U.S. 19.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of the proposed ordinance as submitted.

BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no funding requirement.
