REQUEST:
The City Council is asked to review and approve the purchase of the Sensus Customer Portal, along with the accompanying budget amendment. The first year of fees include a setup fee, integration fee, training, and hosting, which total an amount not to exceed $27,250. In subsequent years, the hosting fee will be as follows:

Year 2: $6,669.00

DISCUSSION:
The City currently uses Sensus Analytics software to collect data from our meters and utilize it in a way to improve customer information access, detect leaks, provide historic consumption information, provide daily meter reads, and generate useful reports. The Sensus Customer Portal will provide the same beneficial information to our residents. The portal is cloud based (internet based) and will be free, but will require that the customer sign up using his or her account number. Providing customers with access to this portal will reduce the number of calls that come into the Billing & Collection Division and will give them real-time meter information.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council approve the purchase of the Sensus Customer Portal, along with the accompanying budget amendment.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost of this purchase will be paid using Account #401107-43499. Future payments will be budgeted for, accordingly. | | | |
