REQUEST:
The action requested of City Council is to review and consider approval of the attached proposal from Altec Industries, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $157,707 for the purchase of an Aerial Lift Truck with unit pricing in accordance with the current Sourcewell Contract #012418-ALT.
DISCUSSION:
As Council is aware, the Street and Right of Way Maintenance Division performs several tasks that requires the use of an aerial lift truck. These tasks range from streetlight maintenance, SCADA antenna maintenance, tree trimming, and tree removal. The existing 2000 aerial lift truck is 21 years old and has served its useful life due to high maintenance cost, and the need to address major repairs such as hydraulic system replacement and boom recertification.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the purchase and declaring the existing 2000 aerial lift truck “surplus equipment” are recommended.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
This equipment purchase is budgeted in the 2020-2021 Capital Equipment/Improvement Plan in the Street & Right-of-Ways Maintenance Division and are identified as Penny for Pasco Tax Dollars. | | | |
