REQUEST: Approve the renewal of an existing easement over City property adjoining the Hacienda Hotel for the purposes of stormwater drainage and a delivery driveway, and an additional easement for the purposes of extending the delivery driveway and for the location of the Hotel dumpster enclosure and dumpster. Also, approve the Special Use Agreement with Hacienda Hotel Florida Corporation for an outdoor seating area for the hotel restaurant on City property adjoining the Hacienda Hotel.
DISCUSSION: In June of 2018, The City of New Port Richey entered into an agreement with Hacienda Hotel Florida Corporation (HHFC) for both a "Lease Agreement" and an "Option to Purchase Agreement" for the Hacienda Hotel property. In November of 2020, HHFC exercised its option and gave the City Staff notice of their to desire to begin the process of purchasing the property. An existing condition of the site is the existence of an easement on the west side of the property for stormwater infrastructure and to allow for a delivery driveway. HHFC wishes to continue the easement for the same purpose, deliveries, as well as adding an additional easement for extending the driveway and the location of the dumpster enclosure and dumpster. Additionally, HHFC wishes to construct a patio, for seating of patrons of the hotel restaurant, on the west side of the hotel. The driveway and dumpster location will require the renewal of the existing easement and the approval of a new easement. The patio with customer seating will require a Use Agreement with the City. The Use Agreement will allow HHCF use of City property for a customer seating area. The Easements Agreement and descriptions as well as the Special Use Agreement will be available at a later date.
