REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to approve the appointment of David Dorsey to the Police Pension Board.
DISCUSSION:
As you are aware, David Dorsey has been a valued member of our community for many years. When an opening occurred on the City's Police Pension Board, Mr. Dorsey was the first person I thought of to fill the vacant position as he currently serves in the same City-appointed trustee position on the Firefighters' Pension Board. I have no doubt that he will serve well in this additional position. If approved, Mr. Dorsey's term will be for four years and will be up for renewal on January 19, 2024. With Mr. Dorsey's appointment, that leaves one City-appointed trustee position to be filled for this board.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the appointment of David Dorsey to the Police Pension Board as submitted and to accept the attached updated roster.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
