REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to approve the replacement of thirty two laptops from Vology for our Police and Fire Departments in an amount not to exceed $89,998.00
DISCUSSION:
In FY2020 the Technology Solutions started replacing laptops for our first responders. Many of the laptops currently being used are over 7 years old and can no longer be supported. Staff reviewed several laptops and determined that the Panasonic Toughbook best suited the needs of our departments. The purchase also includes 6 docking stations allowing for the administration laptops to be used in the office area as well as out in the vehicle. These systems will be purchased using the Federal U.S General service administration contract # 47QTCA-19-D-00MM. This purchase will complete the refresh of the remaining laptops in both PD and FD.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the replacement of thirty two laptops from Vology for our Fire and Police Departments as requested
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds for this project in the amount not to exceed $89,998.00 is allocated and identified in the Police and Fire Departments Capital Purchases accounts numbers 001-06-06-064-521-0000-0000-46413 and 001-07-07-073-522-0000-0000-46413. | | | |
