REQUEST:
The request before council is to approve a request by New Port Richey Main Street to allow for a beer and wine tent in Sims Park on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 for the welcome reception event for the Preservation on Main Street Conference.
DISCUSSION:
As Council is aware, the New Port Richey Main Street organization (NPRMS) is the host for the 2021 Florida Preservation on Main Street Conference. Attendees from all over the State of Florida will be visiting our city during the conference which runs from July 20, 2021 until July 24, 2021. As part of the conference, NPRMS has organized a welcome reception on Wednesday evening, July 21st, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Sims Park and have requested that they be allowed to serve beer and wine to the conference attendees.
It should be noted that this is a special request by staff for City Council approval. The event organizers will have completed the proper application process prior to the event.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the request by New Port Richey Main Street to allow for a beer and wine tent in Sims Park on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 for the welcome reception event for the Preservation on Main Street Conference as submitted.
