As City Council may recall, the City acquired the OWL water system in FY 2018/2019. At its current condition, the OWL system does not have adequate fire protection. Once completed, this project will place fire hydrants at or near neighborhood entryway locations. The project will also increase the volume of water available to satisfy the user demands of the existing and future neighborhoods and commercial structures. The project’s scope of work is included in the City's current Capital Improvement Program (CIP), in the summary of water, sewer, & reclaimed utility projects section. The proposed water system improvements for this project include:
1. 3,100 linear feet of 12-inch diameter water main pipe.
2. Approximately 930 linear feet of 6-inch diameter water main pipe.
3. Approximately 150 linear feet of 4-inch diameter water main pipe.
4. Five (5) Hydrant assemblies.
5. Numerous valves, valve boxes, fittings, and services connections.
