REQUEST:
The City Council is being asked to review and approve Resolution No. 2021-58, which would adopt a spending plan for the use of funds received by the City of New Port Richey under the American Rescue Plan Act.
DISCUSSION:
The City was recently notified of an increase in the estimate to be received. Therefore the proposed Spending Plan has been adjusted to incorporate the additional funds. The City will now receive approximately $8,382,786, as a result of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), which was passed on March 11, 2021. Uses of these funds are subject to the requirements outlined in the U.S. Department of Treasury Interim Final Rule.
A Spending Plan accompanies the Resolution and details programs and projects eligible under the American Rescue Plan Act. The preliminary Spending Plan was presented to Council at a work session on July 29, 2021. Feedback from that work session was incorporated into the Spending Plan being presented this evening.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that City Council approve Resolution No. 2021-58, which would adopt a spending plan for the use of funds received by the City of New Port Richey under the American Rescue Plan Act.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
No budget or fiscal impact to the current operating budget. If adopted, the Spending Plan will be incorporated into future operating budgets. | | | |
