REQUEST:
The request before City Council is to approve the recommendation from the Cultural Affairs Committee to provide assistance with funding to offset costs associated with the Monufest Music and Art Festival Event to be held on October 23, 2021.
DISCUSSION:
Representatives from the Monufest Music and Art Festival Event attended the August Cultural Affairs Committee Meeting to discuss the rapid growth of the intended annual event. The CAC voted during the meeting to recommend to City Council to support the event in an amount not to exceed $5,000 to provide assistance in offsetting costs associated with the event.
The Cultural Affairs Committee felt that this fundraising event would be a benefit for local non-profit organizations and would attract positive attention to downtown New Port Richey and local artists.
RECOMMENDATION:
The recommendation before City Council is for approval of the recommendation from the Cultural Affairs Committee to provide support in an amount not to exceed $5,000 for the Monufest Music and Art Festival Event.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding is available in the Cultural Affairs Committee Budget for this cultural activity. | | | |
