REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to approve necessary hardware upgrades to the City's audio and video system in Council chambers. The total project cost is $46,203. The proposal is attached for your review.
DISCUSSION:
The audio and video system in Council chambers is used to broadcast City Council meetings to citizens at home as well as perform functions such as microphones, projectors and other equipment needed during the meeting process. Many of the core hardware components in this system are over nine years old and are no longer available for replacement or supported by the manufacturers. Staff is proposing to replace the core components that control the system's functions and signal inputs. Currently the hardware does not support any high definition signals or HTMI funtions. This hardware refresh will allow the system to accept digital signals.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that Council approve the proposal as submitted. If approved, installation will begin on September 24th and be completed by September 28th.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for the project has been bugeted and is available in the Techongy Solutions budget. | | | |
