The request of staff for City Council is to review and consider for approval Task Order No. 21-03 from the Wannemacher Jensen Architects, Inc., for engineering services in the amount not to exceed $98,825 for the proposed 2022 N. River Neighborhood Improvements project design.

As Council is aware, this project is included in the 2022/2026 Capital Improvement Program.  A public meeting is scheduled for October 12, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers to gather input from residents prior to the design phase.  Possible proposed construction improvements along N. River Road may include improvements to the existing sidewalk on the east side of N. River Road, hardscape, landscape, roadway striping for pedestrian crossings, traffic lane narrowing, bike lane symbols, and the straightening of the intersection located at N. River Road and Veterans Drive.  This task order is for engineering services to identify and implement the following items:

1.       Gather public input

2.       Existing site conditions

3.       Verify right of way limits and topography

4.       Develop concept plans

5.       Estimate of probable construction cost
