| TO: | City of New Port Richey City Council | | FROM: | Robert M. Rivera, Public Works Director | | DATE: | 10/19/2021 | | RE: | Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Elevated Storage Tank Pump Station – Design Services |
REQUEST:
The request of staff for the City Council consideration is to review and consider for approval, the attached Task Order No. 3 submitted by CHA Consulting, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $59,837 for engineering services to construct and connect a pump station to the WTP’s Elevated Storage Tank.
DISCUSSION: As City Council is aware, the City currently owns a 500,000 gallon elevated storage tank located at the south east corner of George Street and School Road. The storage tank is part of the City’s water distribution system and is used to assist with maintaining the water systems 70 psi pressure on the south end of the City. The attached task order will fund the design and construction documents for the installation of high service pumps to control water pressure with more flexibility. Once constructed, the high service pumps will be able to deal with pressure fluctuation due to demand or when the water treatment plant experiences partial or full power failure.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the task order is recommended.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Project funding is included in the WTP’s budget account No. 401105-46341. | | | |
