REQUEST:
I respectfully request Council authorize the replacement of the Department's LiveScan fingerprint reading device.
DISCUSSION:
The Department's LiveScan fingerprint reading device is approximately seven years old and has become unreliable. Due to its age, it is no longer eligible for service maintenance coverage. This unit is used routinely by Department staff to submit fingerprint information to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend Council authorize the purchase of a replacement LiveScan device, related peripherals, software, printer and on-site implementation from Crossmatch -- 3950 RCA Boulevard, Suite 5001, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida 33410 at a Government Service Administration cost of $12,340.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
I request the purchase be paid from the Department's FY 2014/2015 Budget. | | | |
