RE:2021/2022 Street Improvement Project Task Order No. 41994.003 - Engineering Services

REQUEST:

The request of staff for City Council is to review and consider for approval Task Order No. 41994.003 from the Halff Associates Inc. for engineering services in the amount not to exceed $153,850 for the proposed 2021/2022 Street Improvement Project.



DISCUSSION
:

As Council is aware, the Genesis Group executed an agreement with the City to perform the 2014 Roadway Needs Assessment.  Included in the report is a ranking system that identified roadways by their existing surface condition on a scale of one to ten.  One being the worst condition and ten being in excellent condition and placing the roadways into paving cycles.  The streets included in this task order have been identified as paving cycle six.  They include:

 

1.       Illinois Ave. from Rio Dr. to Grand Blvd.

2.       Illinois Ave. from Monroe St. to Congress St.

3.       Georgia Ave. from Grand Blvd. to Monroe St.

4.       Tennessee Ave. from Van Buren St. to Harrison St.

5.       Alaska Ave. from Van Buren St. to Harrison St.

6.       Lafayette St. from Louisiana Ave. to Illinois Ave.

7.       Calhoun St. from Georgia Ave. to Tennessee Ave.

8.       Franklin St. from Louisiana Ave. to Illinois Ave.

9.       Adams St. from Tennessee Ave. to Illinois Ave.

10.    Jefferson St. from Louisiana Ave. to Illinois Ave.

11.    Monroe St. from Louisiana Ave. to Illinois Ave.

12.    Jackson St. from Louisiana Ave. to Illinois Ave.

13.    Van Buren St. from Louisiana Ave. to Illinois Ave.

14.    Harrison St. from Louisiana Ave. to Illinois Ave.

15.    Frances Ave. from Louisiana Ave. to dead-end.

16.    Maki Ct. from Illinois Ave. to South end.

17.    Kings Ct. from Harrison St. to Cul-de-sac.



RECOMMENDATION:

Approval of Task Order is recommended.



BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:

Funds for this project are identified in the City's current Capital Improvement Program in the Street Improvement Fund (701).
