RE:Elevated Water Storage Tank Rehabilitation – Project Close Out

REQUEST:

The request of staff for the City Council is to review and consider for approval the attached final pay request submitted by Razorback LLC., of Tarpon Springs, Florida in the amount not to exceed $59,150 for the sandblasting, cleaning and painting of the City owned Elevated Water Storage Tank. 



DISCUSSION
:

On May 23, 2021 a steel potable water reservoir inspection was performed at the City’s elevated water tower reservoir by Liquid Engineering Corporation.  Subsequent to the completion of the report, the following deficiencies were identified and remediated as part of this project:

 

1.       Delamination on the inside surface of the Hatch opening.

2.       Delamination on the inside surface of the vent.

3.       Delamination on the roof exterior.

4.       Delamination on the overflow exterior.

5.       Areas of rust nodules on the inlet interior.

6.       Areas of rust nodules on the outlet exterior.

7.       Substantial amounts of intergranular corrosion on the anchor bolts.

8.       Areas of rust nodules on the inside floor.

9.       Staining and rust nodules on the interior walls.



RECOMMENDATION:

Approval of the final pay request is recommended.

Project funding is included in the WTP’s budget account No. 401105-46341.
