REQUEST:
I respectfully request Council approve the purchase of ten (10) Harris XG25M mobile radios and accessories from Harris Corporation for installation in our police vehicles at a total cost of $34,350.90.
DISCUSSION:
This radio equipment is proprietary and only manufactured by Harris Corporation -- a New Port Richey based company. Williams Communication, Inc., 5046 Tennessee Capital Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32303, is the certified Harris Network Service Provider for our area and the sole authorized service provider for our account.
RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend the purchase of ten (10) in-car radios from Harris Corporation for installation in our newly leased police vehicles at a total cost of $34,350.90.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
The purchase of these radios was included in the police department FY 2021/2022 budget
