RE:Proposed Tram Route and Parking Structure Hours - Page 2

SUMMARY:

The request is for the City Council to conduct a Work Session on January 4, 2022 to review the City Manager’s recommendation as it relates to the operational hours as well as the route of the tram vehicles along with the associated hours of operation of the parking structure.

 

As Council is aware, the plan for the city’s parking structure in addition to providing parking for adjacent properties also involves a transportation link into the downtown area.  In that regard, I am certain that there could be several variations of the route and route stops selected however I believe that the attached route map achieves the objectives of minimizing traffic interruptions while facilitating stops at frequented locations.

 

The tram is contemplated to operate according to the following schedule:

 

  • Thursday – 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
  • Friday – 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
  • Saturday – 12:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
  • Sunday – 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 

In respect to the parking structure the recommendation is to operate the building as open in accordance with the following schedule:

 

  • Monday – 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
  • Tuesday - 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
  • Wednesday - 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
  • Thursday - 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
  • Friday - 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
  • Saturday - 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
  • Sunday - 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.



REQUESTED ACTION:

The recommendation is for the City Council to conduct the Work Session and consider the City Manager’s recommendations relating to operational issues involving the tram vehicles and parking structure.
