REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to approve the purchase of 15 in-car cameras from WatchGuard Inc. in an amount not to exceed $117,277.50. This amount will be financed over the next five years with an annual payment of $23,455.50.
DISCUSSION:
In 2020 Technology Solutions Department working with the Police Department advanced 40 body cameras for our officers and 13 in-car cameras. This year the department is expecting 15 new vehicles and these systems will be part of the equipment supporting vehicle and the WatchGuard video evidence solution.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the purchase of 15 in-car cameras from WatchGuard for our Police Department as requested.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds for this project in the amount of $23,455.50 is allocated in the Police Department Capital Purchases account number 001-06-06-064-521-0000-0000-46431.
