REQUEST:
The request of staff for the City Council consideration is to review and consider for approval, the attached proposal from SIEMENS in the amount not to exceed $56,999.78 for the purchase SIEMENS Secure Management for providing remote access to the City's SCADA network.
DISCUSSION:
The SIEMENS solution provided a cellular connection at each of the facilities with a Secure remote access to the SCADA network. Staff will use a VPN connection through SIEMENS cloud-based solution to access the SCADA network. SIEMENS will also provide an end point detection tool with this solution for monitoring.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the purchase of SIEMENS Secure Management from SIEMENS for Public Works as requested.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds for this project in the amount of $56,999.78 is allocated from the Public Works account numbers 401105-46417, 401112-46417, 401113-46417.
