REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to adopt Resolution No. 2022-07 which establishes a Genetic Information Discrimination Policy for the City's workforce policy as a condition of participation in the Community Development Block Grant Programs and Projects.
DISCUSSION:
As Council may recall, at your meeting on July 8, 2021, there were several resolutions passed in regards to the administration of the Community Development Block Grant Program. In order to comply with the program requirements and also as a condition of receiving CDBG funds, the City is required to adopt a Genetic Information Discrimination Policy. The policy, in short, prohibits discrimination based on genetic information, establishes guidelines for acquiring and maintaining genetic information, and provides for the confidentiality of genetic information.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council adopt Resolution No. 2022-07 which establishes a Genetic Information Discrimination Policy for the City's workforce policy as a condition of participation in the Community Development Block Grant Programs and Projects as submitted.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
