SUMMARY:
As the City Council is aware, this analysis part of the proposed project is included in the City’s current Capital Improvement Program. On January 19, 2021 at a City Council work session a discussion was held between City Council and staff to further advance the proposed multi-use bridge. Subsequent to the work session, it was determined that staff would proceed with a more detailed analysis and schedule a meeting with the City Council to be able to discuss the project in more detail.
REQUESTED ACTION:
The requested action of staff for the City Council is to direct staff to proceed or not to proceed with the design phase of a multi-use bridge located at the intersection of Marine Pkwy and US Hwy 19. In addition, should the City Council direct staff to proceed with design phase, what forms of traffic modes are to be included in the design? These types would include golf cart, bicycle, and pedestrian usage.
Finally, there is no budget impact should the City Council not direct staff to move forward with this item. Should City Council direct staff to move forward with the design phase, funding would have to be identified by staff and brought back for formal approval by City Council sitting as the CRA Board of Directors. | | | |
