The request is for City Council to approval a proposal submitted by New Port Richey Main Street for the creation of a train mural on the outside wall which faces Adams Street of Fitzgerald’s Irish Tavern.

In August 2016, City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2016-2090 which amended Section 7.22.04 of the City's Code of Ordinance regarding murals.  The ordinances states that the New Port Richey Main Street design committee shall conduct a technical review of all mural proposals. A copy of Section 7.22.04 is attached for reference. On March 3, 2022 staff received a report from New Port Richey Main Street which outlined the proposed theme of the mural, size specifications for the mural and the materials that would be used to complete the project.  The proposal is now being submitted to City Council for formal approval.  A copy of the report from New Port Richey Main Street along with a rendering of the proposed mural is attached for reference.
