REQUEST:
The request before City Council is to recognize Mrs. Joy Phillips as the Florida Recreation and Park Association 2015 Voluntary Service Award Recipient.
DISCUSSION:
On September 3, 2015, Mrs. Joy Phillips was presented with the 2015 Voluntary Service Award from the Florida Recreation and Park Association. The award is presented annually to one Parks and Recreation Volunteer in the State. The application referred to Mrs. Phillips as a reliable, professional, competent, creative, generous and energetic volunteer. She combines great volunteerism with strong advocacy for the Parks and Recreation movement as well as advocacy and promotion of the City of New Port Richey Parks and Recreation Department.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that City Council recognize Mrs. Phillips for being honored by the Florida Recreation and Park Association.
