REQUEST:
The request of staff for the City Council is to review and consider for approval the proposal submitted by Graber Manufacturing, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $67,779.25 for the direct purchase of amenities directly related to the Sims Park Improvements Project. The proposal includes the same unit pricing as the University of Wisconsin-Madison RFB No. 14-5290.
DISCUSSION:
As Council may recall, the approved Sims Park Improvements Project included the removal and replacement of the existing trash receptacles. It also included the installation of recyclable receptacles, picnic tables and seats, as well as ADA compliant picnic tables and seats. In an effort to reduce project cost staff has been directed to purchase these amenities directly from the vendor eliminating sales tax that would have been paid by the contractor if these purchases were made through the project. In this case the tax cost savings to the City was $3,388.96, with an additional 23% discount and free delivery as the proposal is a piggy back off of the University of Wisconsin-Madison RFB No. 14-5290.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the proposal is recommended.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for these purchases are identified as Penny for Pasco Tax dollars.
