REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to approve the name change for the City's Water Treatment Plant (WTP) from the Joseph A. Maytum WTP to the William C. Maytum WTP.
DISCUSSION:
As Council is aware, I received a letter from Julie Zammetti, the daughter of the late William Maytum, asking the City to reconsider renaming the WTP from the Joseph A. Maytum WTP to the William C. Maytum WTP. I have attached a copy of the correspondence to this agenda item for reference. It is my recommendation that the name change would be a wonderful way to honor Mr. Maytum as he devoted many years of service to the residents of New Port Richey.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the request by Julie Zammetti to rename the City's WTP the William C. Maytum WTP.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Any costs associated with the change in signage would be funded through the FY 21/22 Annual Budget. | | | |
