The City participates in the National Flood Insurance Plan (NFIP) Community Rating System (CRS) which provides for a reduction in flood insurance premiums to our citizens. Presently we have a 7 Rating, which equates to a 15% reduction in premiums of policy holders with insurable property in flood zones areas.
The recent CRS Recertification submittal outlined the City’s specific involvement in Public Information, Mapping and Regulations, Flood Damage Reduction, and Warning and Response as it pertains to our continued involvement in the Countywide Floodplain Management Program.
The attached progress report, specifically titled the 2021-22 Report on Local Mitigation Strategy Report and Repetitive Loss Floodplain Management Plan, summarizes our ongoing practices and updates our progress on implementation of our plan.
