REQUEST:
The request of staff for City Council is to review the 30% preliminary design drawings for the North River Road Improvements Project.
DISCUSSION:
As Council is aware, on October 12, 2021, and on June 14, 2022, the City hosted River Road Neighborhood Improvement Meetings to gather feedback from the residents that reside in the North River neighborhood about what improvements the residents would like to see in their neighborhood. Topics included roadway width, traffic calming measures, sidewalk placement and proposed landscape. Based on resident feedback and staff analysis of the characteristics of the neighborhood, it was determined that Stroud Engineering Consultants, Inc. would be a good fit to design what the residents and what Council would like to see constructed. As per Council’s request to be more involved in the design process of this and similar projects, Brent Heath will present the 30% preliminary design drawings for Council review.
RECOMMENDATION:
Review of the 30% preliminary design drawings for the North River Road Improvements Project is recommended.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds for the 30% preliminary drawings (as well as the final design set of drawings) are called out in Task Order No. 16 executed between Stroud Engineering Consultants, Inc. and the City on September 1, 2022. | | | |
