As Council is aware, the City owns 12 Buildings with existing HVAC systems. These systems, in most cases are large commercial units ranging in age from one (1) year to more than 15 years old. Specifications for these units call out regular maintenance items and frequencies. It is staffs’ intent to acquire economy of scale pricing by combining six (6) of the units into a competitive bid service contract. It is expected that by performing this type of regular maintenance, the frequency of major repairs will be at a lower rate and the systems useful life will reach its maximum expectancy.
On November 4, 2022 two (2) competitive bids were opened for public reading. These bids ranged from a high bid of $315,600 to the low bid submitted by AMSCO of $57,880. As Council is aware, AMSCO has been our HVAC Maintenance Contractor for the previous HVAC contract. City staff has confirmed with AMSCO of the City requirements and bid numbers are correct.
