The item is for City Council to review and approve Resolution No. 2023-01.

As City Council is aware, at the beginning of this year the City held a Name the Alley Contest with the anticipation of improving the character of the City’s alleys which will help reestablish them as public space.  The City received over a 1,000 entries which were reviewed and selected by City Council and staff. On July 19, 2022 City Council awarded the winner of the contest and revealed the list of Florida symbolic names for the alleys which were placed in alphabetical order from North to South.  Alley names are:

·         Alligator Alley

·         Bass Alley

·         Gopher Alley

·         Manatee Alley

·         Mangrove Alley

·         Mockingbird Alley

·         Monarch Alley

·         Orange Alley

·         Panther Alley

·         Porpoise Alley

·         Sable Palm Alley

·         Sailfish Alley

·         Sawgrass Alley

·         Sea Turtle Alley

·         Sunshine Alley
