The action requested of City Council is to review and consider the approval of the attached proposal from HID global for vendor support, hardware and software upgrade. The proposal is estimated to be $6,792.20 from the Equitable Sharing account.

The purpose of this purchase is to upgrade the Guardian Fingerprint Scanner.

This hardware device is used for finger printing and had network capability through a laptop. Using this device allows the Police Department to send prints to the appropriate FDLE authorities.

We will be upgrading the hardware of the scanner and software. This purchase will include the following:

· Hardware upgrade to the Guardian 200 Fingerprint Scanner.

· Hardware Maintenance Support for the new fingerprint scanner which is paid annually.

·Hardware Maintenance Support for hardware accessories which is paid annually.

·Software Version upgrade of the software used to for Live Scan onetime charge.

·Software Licensing for the Live Scan software and drivers to work with the scanner which is paid annually.

·4 Hour Remote implementation support from the vendor who works with FDLE to conduct the installation of the software.
