| TO: | City of New Port Richey City Council | | FROM: | Crystal Dunn, Finance Director | | DATE: | 1/17/2023 | | RE: | Budget Amendment |
REQUEST:
The City Council is asked to review and approve the accompanying year-end budget amendment to the FY2021-2022 Adopted Budget, which would allow for the transfer of funds across departments to cover shortages in the City Manager’s Office, Technology Solutions, Billing & Collection, Public Works Administration, and Public Works Facilities. The largest overages are related to additional contributions to the Florida Retirement System, additional credit card charges, and more participants in the City’s health insurance program, which required a larger employer contribution.
DISCUSSION: The City’s Purchasing Policy states that the City Council may by motion transfer part or all of any unencumbered appropriation balance from one (1) department and office to another.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that City Council approve the accompanying amendment to the FY2021-2022 Adopted Budget.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: The amendment results in an increase of $19,990 to the City Manager’s budget, $26,290 to Technology Solutions, $62,910 to Billing & Collections, $29,810 to the Public Works Administration Division, and $9,170 to Public Works Facilities. There is no change to the overall total budgeted for the General Fund. | | | |
