RE:	Rejection of Bids for ITB22-017 Recreation and Aquatic Center Locker Rooms Renovation Project

REQUEST:
The request before City Council is to review and consider the rejection of the attached bids submitted for the Recreation and Aquatic Center Locker Rooms Renovation Project ITB 22-017.

DISCUSSION:

This project was advertised for bid on July 24, 2022, and July 31, 2022. The project scope was to make construction improvements to renovate existing Men’s, Women’s, and Family Locker Rooms including flooring, wall tile, wall and ceiling paint, replacing restroom accessories and select fixtures at the Recreation and Aquatic Center.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on August 2,2022, to review the project and four companies attended the meeting. Acceptance of the bids closed on August 25, 2022, and two bids were received.

The two bids received were significantly over the amount of funding budgeted for the project.

Due to the fact that all bids submitted significantly exceeded the allocated amount of funding, staff is requesting City Council reject the bids, and staff will submit a new CIP request for Fiscal Year 2023/2024

RECOMMENDATION:
The recommendation is for approval to reject all of the bids submitted.

BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no budget/fiscal impact.
