REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to authorize the acceptance of a donation from the Pasco Florida Kennel Club in the amount of $9,500 for the purchase of a new K-9 dog and to approve the corresponding budget amendment.
DISCUSSION:
The Pasco Florida Kennel Club has generously donated $9,500.00 to the police department for the purchase of a new K-9 that will be utilized by the department for patrol operations. At this time the department is in the process of considering what type of dog would be best suited to our operation needs. With staffing and logistical considerations, staff hopes to deploy the K-9 sometime in this current fiscal year.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the acceptance of a donation from the Pasco Florida Kennel Club in the amount of $9,500 for the purchase of a new K-9 dog and to approve the corresponding budget amendment as submitted.
