REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to approve the appointment of Heather Fiorentino to the Police Pension Board.
DISCUSSION:
As Council is aware, Mr. Jeff Olds submitted an application seeking appointment to the second city-appointed city resident trustee position on the Police Pension Board for the remaining term of the vacant position and was appointed by Council at your regular meeting on December 6, 2022. Unfortunately due to other commitments, Mr. Olds can no longer serve on the Board and has submitted his resignation. In that respect, I had some discussions with Heather Fiorentino and she expressed her interest in the position on the Board. I have no doubt that she is well suited to fulfill the responsibilities associated with a position on this Board. If approved, Mrs. Fiorentino's term on the Police Pension Board will be up for renewal on November 10, 2023 as outlined in the Board's Rules & Regulations provided by their attorney.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the appointment of Heather Fiorentino to the Police Pension Board as submitted and accept the attached updated roster.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
