REQUEST:
Attached for Council's review and consideration is Task Order No. 9 from McKim & Creed, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $28,500.00 for engineering services associated with the WWTP Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) operating permit renewal application.
DISCUSSION:
McKim & Creed, Inc. is well qualified for the work and has performed a number of similar utility engineering assignments for the City. Several miscellaneous WWTP tasks include, reclaimed water system design, grant application, permitting, and reclaimed water master planning. As indicated in the attached materials, the current WWTP Operating permit expires October 2017 and the application for renewal is required to be submitted to FDEP six (6) months prior to the expiration date. Accordingly, it is appropriate the City proceed with the permit application process at this time.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the do not exceed proposal is recommended.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Finally, as members of the City Council will recall Pasco County funds 40% of the operating expenditures for the City's WWTP by Interlocal Agreement. Funding for this wastewater treatment plant operating permit renewal is available in the Water Pollution Control Division's operating budget account No. 401-0112-535-31-29.
