REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to approve Change Order #1 in respect to the Sims Park Improvement Project. The change order is deductive in the amount of $140,844.70.
DISCUSSION:
As you already know, in order to take advantage of the City's tax exempt status the city is purchasing some of the materials associated with the Sims Park Improvement Project directly rather than through our construction manager. In the case of this change order the city is purchasing $132,551.79 in materials, the result of which is a tax savings in the amount of $8,292.91. Therefore the contract with Hennessey Construction Services needs to be amended to reflect the above referenced transaction.
RECOMMENDATION:
The recommendation is to approve the deductive change order with Hennessey Construction Services in the amount of $140,844.70.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
This change order is deductive in nature and represents a savings to the city. | | | |
